It’s that time of year again! If you’ve been following my blog for long, you’ll know how much I love NaNoWriMo. There is just something wonderful about the rush to get an entire manuscript finished in a month. I don’t participate in the April Camp NaNoWriMo because life is too hectic with my kids’ school schedule, but July is a whole different story. It was last July that I wrote the first draft for Pippa of Lauramore.
This year I’m trying something a little different. Since I am caught up with The Eldentimber Series, I am going to write a new adult contemporary. Yes, fantasy is my first love–and it always will be–but I do enjoy funny, romantic contemporary fiction. I have never tried to write it, though. Well, that’s not entirely true. I have tried, but it always seems to fizzle out before I get too far.
This time, though–oh, yes, this time–I have the story. It’s outlined out, guys. It’s the real deal. I am so excited, I can’t even tell you. In fact, I’m not going to tell you. Not yet. I’m working on the chapter outlines now, and soon I’ll be starting a Pinterest inspiration board. I’ll probably put together a playlist or two. I might start a little meal prep so I don’t have to put much thought into dinners.
And then, on July 1st, it’s time to write!
Are you participating in Camp NaNoWriMo? I hope you are; it’s so much fun.
I’m going to attempt it! I tend to give up half way through though. Hopefully that won’t happen.

I will be attempting Camp NaNoWriMo also. Now I need to figure out what I’ll be doing for a plot.:)

That’s always my favorite part! I just love dreaming up my story! What genre are you thinking of?

I don’t know. I might go with an adventure, mystery, or a realistic fiction.
