Sea of Starlight Q & A and a New Scene of Genevieve!

Good morning, everyone!

I’ve been getting quite a few questions about Sea of Starlight recently, so I thought I would do a short Q & A session today.

Also, it’s Wednesday, so a new scene of Genevieve of Dragon Ridge is live on my website. If you’ve been following along, you can read the new scene here. If you’re new to the Eldentimber blog book, or you’ve missed a few weeks, start here.

Okay, let’s answer some questions!

Will Sea of Starlight release early?

This is the number one question you guys have been asking! Right now, I have no plans to release the book early. The book cover won’t be complete until early August, and though the edits are finished, there are still several rounds of proofing left to go. However, it’s always possible. We’ll see how it goes.

Do you have to read Forest of Firelight before you read Sea of Starlight?

This is a great big yes. The Riven Kingdoms series is one long connected story, and if you start with Sea of Starlight, you will be lost. Please read the series in order!

How many books are in the series?

There will be four books. A handful of people seem to think it’s a duology, with Sea of Starlight being the last book. I have no idea why. Originally, I thought there would be three books, but now I know for certain there will be four.

Will there be another cliffhanger?

Again, The Riven Kingdoms is one long connected series, so there’s no way to tidily wrap up any of the books without unanswered questions. With this kind of series, if I don’t leave you wanting more, then I didn’t do my job. (I know a few of you don’t like that, and that’s totally okay. If you don’t, just wait until the series is complete.)

Okay, I think that’s about it! If you have any questions about Sea of Starlight or The Riven Kingdoms series, feel free to leave them below. I’ll try to answer them next week.

I hope you enjoy the new scene of Genevieve!

Wishing you the best,

Shari
