How do you pronounce your name?
This question comes up a lot. It rhymes with starry. (sh-are-ee)
How do you co-author a series?
I have no idea how other people go about it, but Jake and I prefer to say we collaborate on our projects. The idea, the plot, and the characters belong to both of us. We talk, talk, talk about the book as much as we can. (It’s a lot of fun.) I do the actual writing, usually bugging him often with questions or things I want to go over. After I finish with a chapter or two, Jake sits down and reads it, and then we make changes together. If the new scenes spark ideas for later scenes or books in the series, we talk it out right then.
Do you do blog interviews?
If the blog is a good fit for my readers, I’d love to! Feel free to contact me.
Will you write an endorsement for my book?
I occasionally write endorsements for books I discover and love in my personal reading, but I’m not accepting endorsement requests right now. My family is in a very busy season of life, and I’ve had to limit my work-related commitments.
Do you do newsletter swaps?
Yes, but only if I feel the book is genuinely a good fit for my readers.
Are your books clean?

What does your writing process look like?
My process is constantly changing, and it will look completely different from series to series, even book to book. Most often, I know key scenes that will happen in my project, and I’ll connect the dots as I go, discovering things along the way. I’m that weird hybrid writer who’s not a plotter or a pantser, but a plantser. (And no, I have no idea who came up with these names.)
One thing stays constant, however: characters show up fully formed. I have very little control over them, and they remind me quite often. I also have zero control over tone. The character’s personalities set that, and I’m just here to type. ;)

I noticed you brought Lionel back for the end of Elodie of the Sea, and he has a woman he speaks to. But I don’t see any listed novels or novelettes or anything that tells his story. Will you ever tell Lionel’s story and finish the stories of the main competitors from Pippa’s tournament?

I just finished the Silver and Orchids series and must say, it’s one of my favorite series of all time. I miss it already! Greybrow Serpant was absolutely transporting. Would you ever consider adding to the series, and/or telling Sebastian’s story? I wondered what would happen to him and Adeline, and of course the Greybrows in the future.

I’m so glad to hear you liked it! I’m actually working on a companion novel to the Silver & Orchids books that takes place about ten years after Lily of the Desert.
I also plan to do a Silver & Orchids spin-off series in the future, though I’m not exactly sure when that will release.

I’m just finishing up the second book, and the series is looking like it’s going to end up being four books total. The second book will be out in August, the third in November, and then the fourth and final book will release in February.

I just finished the silver & orchids series… in 3 days! I loved it. Specifically enjoyed the complexities of the character. Even the minor characters had good development. I loved the added aspects of morals. I’m a bit sad to see the end. Although I noticed there are endless possibilities of continuing stories set in the same world..I’d love to read what you could dream up for the twins… mishaps they’d get into that would make their parents adventure seem dull

Hi Samantha! I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying the series! I have an online book shop I open up occasionally for signed copies, and I do plan to open it after Age of Auroras releases, probably early to mid-February.
