Marquise of Carabas Update (Puss in Boots Retelling)

Good evening!

I’m taking a short break from my manuscript tonight. It’s going well, but with the craziness that has been my life in the last week, I’m afraid I’m not going to be finished by the end of the month. I also got stuck. Writer’s block, ya’ll–it’s a real thing, and it stinks. According to about a million posts by people smarter than I am, there are lots of different reasons for it. Mine is usually lack of direction.

I love my outlines, but sometimes in the beginning of a project I’m feeling it so much, I can’t sit down and sketch the whole thing out. I have to write.  That’s pretty much what happened with my Puss in Boots retelling. I outlined it, but the last half was more like a few bullet points because I couldn’t wait to dive in.

Well, now here I am well over halfway, and I got stuck. Why? Because I didn’t  have much to go off of. So that’s what I did tonight. I turned on some music, and I outlined.  It’s beautiful now, and I’m happy and content. I’m also out of steam.

So, new goal for this manuscript is May 6th. Then I promise, promise, promise I will jump back into the second book in the Cabin. Coffee. Love series. Don’t worry, September is still looking good on that release. Maybe sooner? We’ll see.

That’s it for now. Have a lovely weekend!
