This one was a struggle, but in the best way. The book didn’t end up how I envisioned it, but I love that about it. The characters took the reins and made it their own. Seeing their story complete makes all the anxiety and frustration absolutely worth it. Some books are just like that. I hope you love it.
So what comes next? Drake’s story is the third and final book in the series, and the tentative plan is to have it out in January. Because I couldn’t help myself, I’ve written about 25% of it, mostly just to get to know the characters and play in their world a little bit. I like to explore as I brainstorm, and this book is going to be absolutely delightful to write.
But before I can focus on The Disgraced Fae, Jake and I get to dive into the final book of our Crown and Crest series. We’re ready to write, and I am excited and a little sad. In fact, I’m hesitant to begin because that means we’re officially coming to the end. Part of me wants to cling to these characters, but the other part wants to finish up the series so they can have their happily-ever-after. No matter what, we begin on Monday!
