Morning Musings: September 5th

Hi everyone!

It’s cold in the camper right now, and I had to turn on our cute electric fireplace a few minutes ago. Autumn is definitely flirting with us, and I’m here for it. Give me all the hot tea, cuddly blankets, and chilly mornings. (Have I mentioned I’m in my cottagecore phase?)

I woke up this morning and realized I don’t talk to you enough. Quick life update just to get you up to speed: we’re still full-time traveling in our fifth-wheel, but we decided to spend the summer and the holidays at home in Colorado with family. We’re in the mountains right now, hanging out at my mom and aunt’s place. And you know what? The leaves are already changing on the cottonwood trees.

Is it making me even more excited to release The Werewolf Hunter and the Apprentice? Yes, it sure is. The book is such a fun blend of cozy autumn vibes and classic monster hunting, and on top of it, there’s a mystery in there, too. So let’s say it’s Van Helsing meets Clue meets the classic pumpkin spice latte. (Except in this book, there are apples. So let’s go with spiced apple cider instead.)

And because I like lists, here are a few things I’m loving right now:

  • Korean Citron Tea — Kenley Davidson brought this to me when she and Melanie Cellier visited a few weeks ago. It comes in jars like marmalade. You add a few tablespoons to hot water, and you have the most delightfully cozy drink imaginable. It’s like a hug in a mug.
  • Love Next Door — This is a Kdrama on Netflix that’s currently airing. I’m SUCH a sucker for friends-to-lovers style stories.
  • This pasta recipe — My son made it for Jake’s and my anniversary dinner last night. It’s amazing.

And some book updates/sales:

  • Today is the Stuff Your Kindle event, which means over 1,000 romance books are free TODAY ONLY. Guild of Secrets is listed in the urban fantasy section. (Please note: There are books with all sorts of heat levels in this promo. Think of it like walking into a bookstore. You can use search terms like “Closed door,” “no spice,” or “low spice” if that’s what you’re looking for. Directions on how to do that are at the top of the promo page.) Click here to view the promo.
  • Bookbub accepted one of my titles for an international deal. It’ll run on the 12th. Be sure to watch my newsletter to find out which book they picked! (Even though it’s international, I’m planning to put the book on sale for my US readers as well.)

That’s all for today! I’m going to get back to editing!

Wishing you the best,

Shari :)
