Weekly Update: October 4th

Hey everyone!

We had a successful move last weekend and are now at the campground we’re going to stay in through the holidays. It went fine, but it was a bit nerve-racking, as our truck is currently at the dealership waiting for repairs. Though we were hoping it would be fixed in time, we ended up borrowing a truck to pull our fifth-wheel.

This is Toby as we were packing up to leave Grandma’s house. He wasn’t happy with us.

It took a little bit to get settled, and I didn’t get a lot of writing done on Monday, but the rest of the week has gone better, and so far, I’ve added an additional 11,653 words to the manuscript. I’m hoping for another 3,000 – 5,000 by the end of today. I expect to be done with the first draft early next week. (I’m currently working on Blood and Buttercups, the first book in A Vampire’s Guide to Gardening.)

A few things I’m loving this week:

  • This Week’s Favorite Tea: I keep reaching for Harney and Son’s Decaf Ceylon this week. It’s like the perfect pair of jeans. Comfortable and familiar.
  • Meal Prep: I took some time on Sunday afternoon to cook and prep ingredients for the week, and it’s made life a little easier. I used to do a ton of monthly meal prep, but that’s difficult in the camper because of limited freezer space, so I have to keep it smaller these days. Even making a few recipes ahead for lunch and prepping some ingredients for dinner helps.
  • The broth in this wonton soup recipe. You can make the wontons, too, but I usually buy frozen ones. We had this yesterday for lunch, and it reminded me how much I love this soup.

This Week’s Sales/Promos/News:

  • Amazon is running a Monthly Deal on Corsair’s Curse. You can pick it up for only $2.49. (Regularly $4.99)
  • Jake and I added another free Chronicles of GHOST bonus to my Exclusive Newsletter Bonus Collection. This one is a scene from Benjamin’s point of view, and it takes place during Werewolf Hunter. We’ve called it “Benjamin and the Redcap.” Make sure you read Werewolf Hunter first because it does contain spoilers. You can subscribe to the newsletter here. (If you’re already subscribed, you can find the link to the newsletter bonuses at the bottom of all my newsletters, so see if you have one hanging out in your inbox.)

That’s all for today! I hope you have a great weekend.

Wishing you the best,

Shari :)
