Hey everyone!
This week has been pretty lowkey, without a lot going on. I ended up taking Monday off, and Jake, the kids, and I drove over the Grand Mesa. Most of the trees had already lost their leaves up top, but it was still beautiful, and the temperature was pleasantly cool without being cold. It was nice to get away, and especially fun since the area was such an inspiration for The Werewolf Hunter and the Heiress.
Because I took Monday off, and had a lot of trouble focusing on Tuesday, I didn’t finish the first draft of Blood and Buttercups as I hoped. However, I’m so close. I think I might work through the weekend to wrap it up.
Yesterday, I asked readers on Facebook and Instagram which hunter they’d like to see featured in the next GHOST book: Atticus or Ambrose. One tea-loving hunter in particular got a lot of love, but we’ll just have to see where it goes next year. Also, the question made me realize that many of you expect the series to finish with those two hunters, so I thought I’d do a quick Q&A to answer some questions.
Chronicles of GHOST Q & A
How many books will be in the series?
We don’t have a set number, but we’re prepared to write these for many years if readers continue to show interest. There are a lot of monsters in the GHOST world and no shortage of hunters. We definitely want to write books for Ambrose and Atticus. We have something planned for Cyril, and I’d like to bring Sterling back into the series down the road. I also have a vague picture of another female hunter floating around in my head.
(How do we judge reader interest? We keep track of sales, KU pages, and reviews. I like to see growth with each book, and if all of those start to wane, it tells me readers aren’t excited anymore.)
Why are the books releasing so far apart?
I’ve had this question several times since Werewolf Hunter’s release, and the answer is…it’s an autumn series. We’re releasing one every September. It’s something you can look forward to as the weather changes—like the return of pumpkin spice everything. Jake and I wanted to create a series that could become part of your autumn traditions. (That sounds lofty, but we just want to offer something warm, fun, and lightly spooky for a season that can get dark.)
Will Greg be in all the books?
Yes, Greg will be in all of them. He would consider himself the main character, I’m sure. A VID, if you will. (Very Important Dragon)
How many bonus stories are available?
Currently, there are two: “A Dragon and His Cow” and “Benjamin and the Redcap.” The first is a bonus story, and the second is a bonus scene.
I have a few more stories floating around in my head, and I’m sure Jake has some ideas as well, so there will be more down the road. Be sure to join my newsletter to read these two. I’ll also notify my subscribers as soon as I add more to the collection.
I think that’s all. If you have any questions, leave them below, and I’ll try to answer them!
Moving on to a few things I’ve been enjoying this week:
- Favorite Tea of the Week: I’ve been slowly going through Adagio’s September Community Box, and yesterday, I tried the Maple Crème Oolong sample and absolutely loved it. I got two really good steeps out of it, though I was only able to drink a cup and a half because Mittens knocked it over before I was finished. (Remember our cat Mittens from a few weeks ago? She’s the Mighty Moth Killer. She has now earned an additional title: Destroyer of Teatime.)
- Seasonal Snacks: I’ve really been enjoying Sprout’s Apple Pie Snaps and Pumpkin Snaps. They go so well with tea. Private Selection’s Apple Caramel Popcorn is also amazing.
- This Bruschetta Chicken Recipe: I made it on Tuesday with a side of linguine, and it was perfect.
And finally, sales and promos:
- Amazon is running a Monthly Deal on Corsair’s Curse. You can pick it up for only $2.49. (Regularly $4.99)
That’s all for this week! I hope you have a great weekend!
Wishing you the best,
Shari :)
