Happy Friday, everyone!
We’re only one week away from the release of Blood and Buttercups, the first book in A Vampire’s Guide to Gardening! This week has absolutely flown by. It’s been a blur of edits, feedback, and read-throughs, but we’re just about finished.
I wrote several newsletter bonus scenes for this one, and I’m editing those today. My designer has finalized the paperback cover, though I’m still not sure what service I’m using yet. I need to make that decision soon.
After this book releases, I’m going to take some time off for the holidays. I’ll still write on and off, but I won’t get back to my normal schedule until January. I’m really looking forward to the break. After pushing hard this year, my brain needs a chance to rest and recoup.
A few things I’m loving right now:
Favorite Tea of the Week: Adagio’s Formosa Bai Hao. I mentioned this oolong tea on Instagram. The production process is weird (really weird), but it’s delicious, sweet, and smooth. You can read more about it by clicking the picture of the black tea cup in my Instagram grid at the bottom of this post.
Teens Who Clean/Bake/Organize: My kids, you guys. Obviously, I love them all the time, but what a blessing they’ve been lately. Without prompting, they have stepped up this week. My daughter has reorganized most of the cabinets. My son has been making cookies. They’ve both been helping with dishes. They probably won’t ever read this, because they just couldn’t care less about my blog, but this is a shoutout to them.
Meal Planning: I think I already mentioned this recently, but I really do love meal planning. My goal this month has been to eat at home more, and by planning ahead, I’ve been able to schedule low-key dinners that everyone actually looks forward to eating. Last night we had slow-cooker French dips. I don’t have a recipe because I just do my own thing, but basically you slow-cook a beef roast, shred it, slap it on crusty buns with whatever cheese you fancy, and BAM. Dinner. We had it with fries, but you could be healthy and add something green.
This Week’s Sales/Promos:
My big holiday sale is on the horizon. It will kick off with the release of Blood and Buttercups. I’ll post more on all that soon.
That’s all for today! I hope you have a lovely weekend.
Wishing you the best,
Shari :)
