I’m pretty sure this coming week is going to be one of the busiest of the summer. Park days, dentist appointments, family visits, a birthday, the 4th of July, and…Camp Nanowrimo are all on the schedule. I’ve already double booked two days this week on accident. We were going to do a photo shoot for Pippa and Anwen’s covers, but I’m going to have to postpone it until later in the month. There is just no way it’s all going to happen.
On a good note, I am ready to write. The final draft for Grace was submitted to Amazon this morning, and that is a huge relief. Now I can focus all my efforts on my NaNo manuscript. Just for fun, I’ve started compiling a music playlist. I don’t usually listen to anything except instrumental while I’m writing, but I like to have it going while I’m doing other things, like cooking or avoiding cleaning.
I would really love to set up a new writing desk, but I just don’t think I will have time. I want something tiny, just large enough for my laptop, a notebook, and my coffee cup–something I can tuck away in my living room. At the same time, I want it to be pretty. With everything going on, I certainly don’t have time to sand and repaint something. I think this particular project will have to wait.
For those of you participating in Nano, what have you done to prep? Are you an outliner or a pantser? Have you planned out any snacks or meals? Better get ready; writing starts on Wednesday!
I haven’t had the time to prep much which means that I’m pretty much freaking out. But what I did do was stock up on hot chocolate and I wrote a brie description of every scene I gave to write.

I think that sounds like a great start! I always feel so much better once I get my scenes planned. What genre are you planning on?

I’m writing epic fantasy.
What about you? What genre are you writing this year?

I’m going to attempt a contemporary new adult fiction. I usually write fantasy, so this will be an adventure!

That sounds great.
I think it’s great to experiment with the different genre.
People often simply stick to fantasy because it leaves them a bit more free reign.
