Tonight I wrote the last line of Just the Essentials, the New Adult Contemporary I was working on for Camp Nanowrimo. I didn’t complete this Nano. It’s the first one I haven’t won. That’s a little tough to admit, but I am glad I took a step back. With Grace of Vernow’s release, the Midlist promo I had running for Pippa of Lauramore, and all of the final editing I’ve been doing for Anwen of Primewood, there just wasn’t enough of me to go around.
But I finished it tonight. There’s a few scene tweaks I’m going to work on the next couple of days, but then it will be set aside for awhile to steep (a manuscript is like herbal tea–the longer it sits, the better it is).
Now here’s the big news–after it goes through editing, I’m going to submit it to the Swoon Reads website! While it’s there, you’ll be able to read it for free. After that, you’ll be able to buy the Kindle edition from Amazon.
I’m hoping to have it on the website by mid-November, and I’ll be sure to let you all know when it goes live!
Woohoo, congratulations!

I wasn’t able to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo because of the rules. I am going to do the one for younger aspiring authors in November.

That’s all right! I’ve heard great things about the younger author Nanowrimo events. Our local library has an event centered around it in November.

I also have to come up with another book for school. So many books in November! Ahhh! Lol

Congrats! It’s always nice to have a finished rough draft sitting in your lap.
I finished my own camp NaNo novel the other day and I’m now editing a different novel. It has been waiting for me for nearly a year and now that I read it I have mixed emotions about my writing skill. On the one hand I can see that I have improved, on the other reading this novel literary makes me sick.

Congrats to you too for finishing your NaNo novel! And I know what you mean about past works-in-progress. I have a few pieces from years ago that I have never tackled editing because they are just so rough! It’s great to see the growth, though. I have one that I just love the story, but–wow. Just, wow. If I ever decide to work with it, it will need to be mostly rewritten.
